  • A dedicated Fire Control Center monitors the Fire Panel 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
  • An Emergency Response Team headed by Security, Engineering and Duty Manager is available 24 hours per day, 7 days a week.
  • Sprinkler system throughout entire Hotel (guest rooms, hallways, meeting rooms, Grand Ballroom, public areas, back of the house).
  • Hard wired smoke and heat detectors throughout entire Hotel (hallways, meeting rooms, spa, kitchens, public areas).
  • Portable fire extinguishers (at marked locations).
  • Fire cabinets situated throughout all areas of the hotel.
  • Dedicated and marked Hard Standings for Fire Brigade with easy access to Breaching Valves.
  • Fire alarms, visual fire alarms (strobes) and audio (whoop siren) located throughout entire building.
  • Elevator recall activation for fire alarms (descends to a safe floor).
  • Pressurization fans in emergency staircases switches on in the event of a fire.
  • Two back-up generators in case of power failure.
  • Emergency smoke purge system on all guest floors.
  • Smoke detection equipment installed in HVAC system ducts.
  • Fire dampers on each floor are designed to close when smoke detectors are activated.
  • Dedicated Fireman’s elevators.

Evacuation Procedures:

  • In the event of a partial or total evacuation due to fire or other emergency situation, the following procedures will apply:
  • Begin the evacuation process upon hearing the general fire alarm or being given verbal instructions to evacuate.
  • Use fire stairwells to evacuate - never use elevators.
  • Walk, do not run.
  • Stay calm.
  • Proceed to the designated evacuation assembly area.
  • Report anyone stranded to the Emergency Response Team member or Fire Department personnel.

In the event you are unable to evacuate immediately press the Emergency button on the phone and advise them of your situation and location.  Telephones in public areas are “No-Dial Emergency phones”.


All guest room doors are equipped with:

  • Electronic locking device.
  • Peephole viewers. 
  • 1-inch deadbolt lock 
  • Secondary locking device – latch.
  • All guest room doors automatically lock when closed. 
  • All guest room connecting doors are equipped with 1-inch deadbolt lock. 
  • All guest room phones have autodial emergency buttons. 
  • Strict guest room key issuance policy in effect including photo ID upon check-in. 
  • All guest rooms are equipped with smoke detectors and sprinklers.
  • Accessible guestrooms are fitted with emergency call devices linked to a 24 hour, 7 days a week manned Security Control Center.


  • The Hotel employees a uniformed, full-service security department – 24hrs day / 7 days a week.
  • Security staff members are trained in CPR, First Aid and use of AED’s.
  • The Security Team consists of trained male and female Security Officers.
  • Security is aided with the assistance of X-Ray equipment, Walk-through Metal Detectors and hand-held detectors. 
  • Secure basement vehicle park with valet-only parking and Security patrols.
  • Security staff members are equipped with advanced IP mobile phones.
  • Upgraded IP CCTV system in use.
  • Upgraded fire alarm system in use.
  • Strict key control procedures in effect.
  • Safe Deposit boxes are provided to all guests free of charge at our Front Desk. Available 24hrs day / 7 days a week. 
  • Safes are available in all guestrooms.
  • Access to building restricted “after-hours”.
  • Advanced CCTV Control Center.
  • Refresher training for all employees on safety and security issues is on-going.
  • Close liaison with local Police, CID and Emergency Services on regular basis.

IN-HOUSE SECURITY ASSISTANCE| Hotel Standard Procedure  
In case of emergency, dial 5555 or press the Emergency Button on your guest room telephone.  Any time 5555 is dialled from a house phone it immediately alerts our Security Team and an officer is dispatched to the location of the phone call.

For all lost and found inquires please call the Butler Service Desk at (+974) 444 60000.  Guests in residence may reach the hotel operator by dialling 0.

  • A dedicated Lost & Found Office is manned 24 hours, 7 days a week.
  • All lost items found are handed to the Security officer at the Lost & Found office.
  • Any valuables found will be secured in our Lost & Found office and safes and are kept for 90 days.
  • The Hotel is not responsible for any items left in rooms, vehicles, or hotel premises.
